Well, below I can let you know two labels to get you off to the races in 'Style' even on a small budget. Five Spring Racing fashion tips for your best race day yet!
I'm excited to share with you some great styling tips for this year's Spring Racing Carnival.
1. Creating harmony with your look is key. Matching your hat and dress is classic but doesn’t mean you need to match head to toe, contrasting colours that complement can also look great. Tip: Choose other shades of the colours in your dress.
2. Hats will always be on trend as this is the classic racing look, however, fascinators are fab!
This season we are seeing the following design styles by milliners consisting of structure, height, floral headbands and half turbans.
'Murley and Co Millinery' are bold and beautiful. If you're one that likes to make a statement then Carla's designs are definitely worth a look. https://www.murleyandco.com
If you're looking for a variety of milliners in the one place then head to 'The Eternal Headonist'. They are located in Collins Street, Melbourne or online at - https://www.theeternalheadonist.com
3. Lock in your 'Personal Style'
It's key to ask yourself what style am I? Classic, Creative, Romantic, Feminine or Alluring? Maybe you are a combination of these styles. Then work out what patterns and colours appear in your wardrobe. By knowing what you are drawn to will give you guidelines when out shopping for that special dress.
Ask yourself why you are drawn to these colours, patterns or textures?
4. You may be asking yourself in what order you purchase your outfit?
DRESS - MILLINERY - SHOES - CLUTCH - JEWELLERY. Your dress (pantsuit or jumpsuit) is key! The rest will follow.
Choose a dress that has a neckline to suit your features. A dress that shows off your waistline is always flattering. Fuller skirts look great on most body shapes. You can guarantee the shops will be full of them with this year's trends. Three trends I can spot in the shops; The Three R's' - ROMANTIC - REGAL - RED.
5. Don't forget!
Each day has a theme for fashion and colored roses so be sure to join in the fun and work out the traditional theme to each day. We don't often follow traditions in life anymore so embrace all that Flemington has to offer. https://www.flemington.com.au/melbournecupcarnival
NO NO’s - Strapless dresses, short dresses, no midriffs or super high heels!
Be sure to choose wide heels, wedges or heels that are only 7cm in height so you are comfortable all day long.
Below are some of my favorite looks from previous Spring Racing Carnivals. Good luck and enjoy putting your outfits together.
